Young Adults Serve Buffalo Families in Need

This past Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Tabernacle’s Young Adult group ‘Activate: Young Adults’ engaged in outreach in downtown Buffalo. The crew loaded up a van packed with a total of 100 boxes, stuffed with ingredients and materials for full holiday meals. We also provided a whole frozen turkey with each box we distributed. As we drove our van around, we quickly distributed our boxes and met tons of people in need of a meal.

Our group was able to show the love of Christ to a plethora of different families and individuals in need. Along with the act of physically giving food, we also offered a loving smile, and a simple question of “Can we pray for you?” So many families were touched and invited us to come inside and hold hands with those there. We even had multiple families express that they weren’t sure how they were going to afford this year’s holiday meal.

Seeing the eager and joyful response from our young adults is such a blessing and encouragement. So many showed up to give their time to invest in and love others. We’re continuing to pray and to create more opportunities for our group to go out and spread the good news of Christ!
