Jewish Leader Addresses Evangelical Support for Israel

 In Blog

Earlier this month we had the joy of welcoming a dear friend from Israel to speak to the Eagles’ Wings team and to address a special gathering at The Tabernacle in Orchard Park.

David Nekrutman is the Executive Director of the Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation (CJCUC) in Israel. He and Bishop Stearns delighted everyone with a spontaneous Facebook Live conversation, sharing stories of how David and Bishop first launched many of Eagles’ Wings’ current initiatives – including the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, the Watchman on the Wall program and curriculum, and the Israel Experience.

The following evening, David shared a special presentation on the significance of the Passover holiday and its link to the historic restoration of relationship between Jews and Christians. He said, “Our job is not to finish the work of reconciliation; our job is to begin… The Jewish people embrace your friendship for the very first time in history. We acknowledge the importance of it and we acknowledge that redemption cannot fully come until we embrace each other.” Following his stirring remarks, a multi-ethnic panel shared on the topic of “How has my Christian worldview changed since I discovered the Jewishness of Jesus, Israel, and the roots of my faith?”

The evening ended with a beautiful time of unity and celebration of our shared faith values.

Special Evening with David Nekrutman
