Em 1989, o rabino Schneier fundou a Fundação para a Compreensão Étnica, originalmente com o objetivo de reconstruir a histórica aliança entre negros e judeus nos Estados Unidos e, nos últimos 15 anos, para construir relações entre muçulmanos e judeus a nível global.
O rabino Schneier sempre foi um construtor e pioneiro. Em 1990, fundou a Sinagoga de Hampton e criou uma comunidade judaica nos Hamptons. Antes da criação da sinagoga, os Hamptons não ofereciam oportunidades para a vida judaica. Quase 30 anos após a fundação da sinagoga, ela possui um dos maiores números de membros filantrópicos do país, recebe políticos e celebridades internacionais e nacionais e tornou-se uma das sinagogas mais importantes dos Estados Unidos.
Como visionário, o rabino Schneier foi pioneiro no campo das relações entre muçulmanos e judeus a nível global. Através do seu trabalho na Arábia Saudita, Catar, Emirados Árabes Unidos, Omã, Bahrein, Azerbaijão, Indonésia, Israel, Cazaquistão, Marrocos, Palestina, Singapura, em toda a Europa, América do Sul e Hemisfério Sul, o rabino Schneier foi pioneiro na programação dinâmica e discussão entre judeus e muçulmanos para lembrá-los de que têm mais coisas que os unem do que as que os dividem.
Foi nomeado para o Comité Diretivo da Conferência Mundial sobre o Diálogo do Reino da Arábia Saudita, convocada pelo rei Abdullah. Schneier também foi nomeado para o Comité Executivo Diretor da Campanha Multirreligiosa Contra o Fanatismo Antimuçulmano nos Estados Unidos. Ele foi recebido por inúmeros chefes de Estado e discursou em vários parlamentos. Na última década, ele deu a conhecer o Centro Internacional de Diálogo Inter-Religioso de Doha (DICID) e conferências inter-religiosas globais em Israel, Azerbaijão, Cazaquistão, Marrocos, Alemanha, Ucrânia, Áustria, França, Reino Unido, Bélgica, México, Argentina, Espanha e Itália.
O rabino Schneier criou e liderou o fim-de-semana anual das geminações de mesquitas e sinagogas em todo o mundo; as reuniões anuais do Encontro de Líderes Muçulmanos e Judeus Europeus (GEMJL) em Paris e Bruxelas; múltiplas missões de unidade aos Estados Unidos por líderes muçulmanos e judeus da Europa, América do Sul e do Hemisfério Sul. Fundou e dirigiu a primeira Cimeira Norte-Americana de Rabis e Imãs, realizada em Nova Iorque em 2007.
O rabino Schneier também publicou dois livros. Filhos de Abraão: A Candid Conversation about the Issues That Divide and Unite Jews and Muslims, co-escrito com o Imã Shamsi Ali, que ilumina como cada um dos seus co-autores venceu as tentações do fundamentalismo para abraçar uma versão mais pluralista da fé. O livro inclui um compromisso conjunto para construir um movimento global de muçulmanos e judeus empenhados na comunicação, reconciliação e cooperação. O prefácio foi escrito pelo antigo Presidente Bill Clinton e foi patrocinado pelo Rei de Marrocos, Sua Majestade Mohammed VI. Rabbi Schneier produced an award-winning film, Jinn, written by African-American Muslim director, Nijla Mu’mim. He also played a rabbi in Substance of Fire, a film starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Tony Goldwyn and Timothy Hutton.
Rabbi Schneier is a native New Yorker and was ordained by Yeshiva University. He currently divides his time between New York City and Westhampton Beach.

He is the Executive Assistant to Bishop Bruno of his home church, Abundant Life Worship Center in Nutley, NJ. He has been a guest on TBN’s TV Show, Praise the Lord, a guest on the 700 Club, and is also a Christian author.
Pastor Joe has an apostolic call on his life to raise up and train leadership. He has pioneered two churc hes and oversees many others, including churches in Sumy, Ukraine.He has been happily married to his wife Debbi, for 36 years, with a family that has been steadily growing. Pastor Joe has three children, six grandchildren and continues to fulfill his dream of reaching many generations for the glory of God.

Joe has traveled to various states in the U.S. and countries abroad preaching the full gospel. He is also routinely mentoring and speaking into young men and women who feel called into ministry and have a desire to be leaders. He is the founder and director of the “Refuel” conferences, a regional young adults movement based in northern New Jersey that reaches young adults throughout New Jersey and parts of New York and Pennsylvania. Joe’s first authored book, “Bread n Butter: 40 Verses for Life” is scheduled to release early spring 2019. He is the co-founder and chairman of the Gerson Lehrman Group. He is also the co-founder of Thuzio. Gerson is involved in philanthropic organizations African Mission Healthcare Foundation and the United Hatzalah through which he started the L’Chaim Prize for Outstanding Medical Missionary Service, the largest prize for medical missionary work globally.
Gerson graduated with a BA from Williams College and a JD from Yale Law School. He grew up in Short Hills, New Jersey and attended Milburn High School.
