Bishop Robert Stearns Honored with The Jerusalem Post’s Shield of David Award at Miami Summit

Bishop Stearns was recognized for his commitment to strengthening the bonds between Christians, the Jewish people, and the State of Israel

Miami, Florida: January 13, 2026 – Bishop Robert Stearns, Founder and President of Eagles’ Wings, was awarded The Jerusalem Post’s Shield of David Award during the news outlet’s Miami Summit, in recognition of his decades-long commitment to strengthening the bonds between Christians, the Jewish people, and the State of Israel.

The award was presented by The Jerusalem Post CEO Inbar Ashkenazi following Bishop Stearns’ keynote address on the main stage of the summit. The event convened senior political leaders, members of the U.S. Congress, global diplomats, faith leaders, and prominent influencers from across the United States and Israel.

Taking the stage to receive the award, Bishop Stearns spoke with emotion, thanking The Jerusalem Post for the honor and reflecting on the responsibility of moral leadership in the current global moment. Addressing the audience, he delivered a message of urgency, unity, and resolve.

“This is a pivotal and urgent moment in history, and silence is no longer an option,” Stearns said. Turning to the evolving relationship between Jews and Christians, he emphasized the shift from historical division toward shared action and responsibility. “After generations of division, Jews and Christians are learning to stand together – not in theory, but in action,” he noted.

Addressing the broader global challenges facing democratic and moral values, Stearns warned that unity must be grounded in a shared moral purpose. “Against an unholy alliance of hatred, there must rise a holy alliance of Jews and Christians working together,” he said.

Reflecting on his personal journey and decades of advocacy, Stearns added, “Standing with Israel is not a moment for me — it is the work of a lifetime.” He concluded with one of the summit’s most resonant lines, underscoring his belief in a prevailing moral clarity despite the rising extremism and antisemitism worldwide. “Evil is not winning,” Stearns said. “Evil is losing miserably.”

The Shield of David Award, presented by The Jerusalem Post, honors individuals who have made an extraordinary contribution to strengthening Israel’s global standing and fostering meaningful alliances with the Jewish people.

For more than three decades, Eagles’ Wings, founded and led by Bishop Stearns, has worked to strengthen the bond between the Christian world and Israel, bringing tens of thousands of pastors, leaders, and influencers to experience the Holy Land firsthand. The organization also advances humanitarian and educational initiatives, including the Abraham’s Bread feeding centers in Jerusalem and Tiberias, serving both Jewish and Arab communities in need.
