Jerusalem, Israel — On October 6, 2025, the Tower of David near Jaffa Gate became the epicenter of global Christian and Jewish prayer, worship, and solidarity as thousands gathered for the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ) and Awake Jerusalem, hosted by Eagles’ Wings under the leadership of Bishop Robert Stearns.
The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, held from 4:00–5:30 PM, brought together leaders, pastors, influencers, and believers from around the world. Highlights included Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, who, alongside dozens of artists, influencers, and pastors, led the crowd in a moving rendition of Shaalu Shalom Yerushalayim—“Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.”
A special appearance was made by Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, who, despite high-level meetings earlier in the day, made it a point to attend: “This is the best part of my day. Thank you for 30 years of friendship and support for Israel.”
The event was marked by deeply emotional worship, including Yuval Raphael, a survivor of the October 7th attacks, singing a song she wrote in the aftermath of that day. Having literally been covered in blood and witnessing unimaginable loss, her performance honored those who were killed and those still held hostage, leaving the audience in tears and hearts united in prayer.
During the gathering, Bishop Stearns announced the next Solidarity Sunday, scheduled for January 25, 2026, a global initiative mobilizing churches and communities to pray and act for the Jewish people and stand against antisemitism. More information is available at www.solidaritysunday.com.
As evening fell, Awake Jerusalem, sponsored by the Israel news app, Newsreal, began at 6:30 PM, drawing Christians, Arabs, Jews, and government officials in unprecedented unity. Nearly 1,000 attendees filled the Tower of David, with hundreds more turned away due to capacity limits. For nearly two hours of non-stop worship, artists including Nate Diaz, Paul Wilbur, David Binion, Bryson Rory, Ross Johnston, Jordan Feliz, and Jimmy Levy led a night of praise that celebrated Jerusalem, God’s faithfulness, and covenant promises.
Reflecting on the historic day, Bishop Robert Stearns said:
“I had the incredible honor of standing in Jerusalem, surrounded by leaders, pastors, influencers, and believers from around the world, united for one purpose: to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. From Yuval’s courageous song honoring the lost and those still held captive, to the historic singing of Shaalu Shalom Yerushalayim led by Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, this wasn’t just a gathering—it was a prophetic moment connecting generations and nations in faith, worship, and solidarity with Israel.”
The events of October 6 demonstrated that prayer and action are inseparable, inspiring believers worldwide to stand in solidarity, take action, and proclaim peace for Jerusalem.
