Bishop Robert Stearns Ministers in Seoul, Korea

Bishop Robert has just returned from a powerful trip to Korea, where much fruit came from the time spent in the country. Dr. David Yonggi Cho, the founder of the Yoido Full Gospel Church in Korea, the world’s largest congregation, invited Robert to participate in his Church Growth International (CGI) Board Meetings with other global leaders. Robert also received the distinct honor of being invited to preach at Yoido Full Gospel Church Bundang during the Sunday celebration. Thousands were in attendance as Bishop Robert delivered a powerful word about Israel!

This ministry trip created a great level of expectation for what Bishop Robert can bring to the CGI conference with his wisdom and counsel regarding Israel and the Jewish people. Christians around the world are looking to Bishop Robert on how to stand in partnership with the Jewish people as anti-Semitism and other forms of hate, like the BDS movement, continue to increase. The CGI board has come into relationship with a great friend of Israel and the Jewish people in Bishop Robert!

Church Growth International (CGI) is an international institute with the heart of serving and equipping churches across the world and was inaugurated in 1976. Bishop Tommy Reid, Bishop Emeritus at the Tabernacle in Orchard Park, NY, is a close personal friend of Dr. Cho and was an initial board member and leader of CGI. Bishop Reid’s relationship with Dr. Cho goes back to 1962, when a young Bishop Reid and his father, Rev. Al Reid led revival meetings across the Korean peninsula. During their time in Korea, a young Dr. Yonggi Cho served as their interpreter and formed a deep, long-lasting friendship.

The CGI board today consists of pastors and respected leaders from more than 25 countries. CGI as a global international institute holds a world church growth conference in the major cities of the world. Every odd year the conference is held in Seoul, Korea. This year, 2019, in Seoul at Yoido Full Gospel Church, the conference was attended by tens of thousands, with representation from North and South America, Europe, Africa, and all parts of Asia. As part of the meetings, Bishop Robert was asked to provide insight and expertise on Israel and the Middle East.

It is an honor and a privilege for Bishop Robert to continue in the legacy of Bishop Reid in this work in Korea, now joined to the ministry outreaches of Eagles’ Wings. To God be the glory!

We invite you to consider partnering with the work of Eagles’ Wings and the impact that Bishop Robert Stearns is sharing around the world. We could not do this without each of our partners. Thank you.
