Letters of Hope touch the hearts of Israelis in Need
In April Eagles’ Wings, at the height of the COVID-19 lockdown Eagles’ Wings launched a campaign to provide hope and help in a special way to Israeli’s in need through our Abraham’s Bread Feeding Center. Called “Letters of Hope,” Christians from all ages sent in cards with messages of hope that have been distributed with food packages to elderly Holocaust survivors, young families and those who have been unemployed due to pandemic shut-downs.
One of those who was helped was “J”.
“J” and his wife and two sons, 10 and 14 moved to Israel 10 years ago from San Francisco. Unfortunately due the high cost-of-living in Israel and lower salaries it was all he could to care for his family and had no savings.
J who is 58 years old lost his job when his company went out of business due to COVID-19. As they waited for some unemployment assistance their family prioritized paying their rent, but had nothing left over for food and were deeply worried about how they would survive or celebrate Pesach. J reached out to our Abraham’s Bread Feeding Center in Jerusalem, and wasable to receive daily meals for himself and his family, as well as a robust Seder kit and holiday basket of pantry items. J told us, “If you look at me at face value you would never think I would be someone who needed help. You truly helped me out in a moment of need. Thank you!”
Through Eagles’ Wings faithful partners we were able to send over $7,500 to help provide food to accompany the beautiful cards and notes. Watch this video as Mimi in our Abraham’s Bread Feeding Center packs a meal for a family in need.
