Jerusalem to Host Anchor Celebration for Global Prayer Day with Jews and Christians

On Sunday, October 7, 2018, Christians from around the world will gather at the Tayelet Haas Promenade in Jerusalem, to celebrate and to pray for true peace to come to this city and all of Israel.

This event will be broadcast live globally by G-D TV as a part of the larger, global DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM which will take place in churches and congregations around the world that Sunday. G-D TV is the largest Christian television network in the world with millions of viewers.

Highlighted by beautiful music, prayers for Jerusalem, and inspiring comments from religious and civic leaders, The Day of Prayer was started during the Second Intifada in 2002 by Evangelical Christian leaders with Dr. Jack W. Hayford and Dr. Robert Stearns serving as co-chairmen.

This is the largest Jerusalem-focused prayer initiative in the world, with tens of millions of people from over 500,000 churches and 175 nations participating annually. Information about the worldwide observance can be found at www.daytopray.com.

This year in particular as we continue to commemorate the 70th year of the rebirth of the State of Israel and the 50th year of Jerusalem’s reunification The Day of Prayer will be kicking off a special 3 day event called AWAKE JERUSALEM (www.awakejerusalem.com). This prayer event will gather hundreds travelling to Israel from across 15 nations as we pray and worship nonstop in locations such as The Southern Steps, Bethlehem and the Garden Tomb.
