10/9/2023 – Number of hostages rises to 130

 In Frontlines

The last two days have been filled with interviews with international media, including CBN, TBN, and others, as well as meeting with Israeli leaders and our partners on the ground to ensure your support is getting to the people here.

There are no words as we see the death toll continue to rise, with estimates as high as 1,000 people killed, many of them innocent Israeli civilians murdered in cold blood. Over 4,000 rockets have been launched at Israel in the last 36 hours, as the estimated number of hostages rises to 130. Sadly, the violence from Hamas shows no sign of stopping.

As the war enters the third day, much attention is on the Israeli communities in the south where Hamas gunmen may be hiding.  Still, many of the communities further north in Israel are also concerned about similar “copycat” invasions by Islamic terrorists emboldened by the savagery that Hamas perpetuated.

One of our friends in Israel is Eagles’ Wings tour guide “Gidi,” who lives in one such community.

Just last week, Gidi was a tour guide under our head guide, Shlomo Eyal, leading one of the several Eagles’ Wings groups of 300 Christians from 20 nations as we traveled around the Holy Land. We stopped to worship, pray, and reflect at biblical sites all over Israel as Gidi shared about the biblical and historical significance of the places we visited.

Yesterday, he traded his guide outfit for full battle gear, as he is one of just four reserve soldiers in his community left to patrol and protect his family and neighbors from attack.

Eagles’ Wings tour guide, Gidi shares the urgent need for protective equipment to safeguard his community of Sde Boaz.

Please keep Gidi and the people of Israel in prayer, along with all those brave Israeli men and women who are risking their lives to protect and defend their families, neighbors, and the State of Israel.

Below are some prayer points you can share with your congregation and post on your social media to mobilize prayer for Israel…but can I also challenge you to do more than pray?

Gidi and his community need $7,728 to purchase flashlights, radios, and other protective and defensive equipment to keep their community safe. I believe those receiving this email share my heart to respond to this urgent need.

I want to thank all of you who have given already to bless and support Israel, and I want to encourage those of you who have not yet given to donate today towards this worthy and vital cause.
